Chapter 1 - The Fall They Planned

The crystal doors burst open just as Emma hit the marble floor. One arm braced her fall, both hands instinctively shielding her eight-month belly.
Daniel rushed in, dropping beside her.
“Call an ambulance,” he ordered Lauren without hesitation.
Vanessa stood above them in her burgundy dress, voice sharp.
“She slipped.”
Daniel had seen everything. Her grip. The force. The intent.
“Leave. Now.”
But Vanessa didn’t move.
She reminded him—coldly—that this bridal suite belonged to the Whitmore family. That Emma never truly did.
To the guests outside, Emma was still just a waitress’s daughter who married into wealth.
Vanessa smirked.
“This proves she’s unstable. Not fit to raise an heir.”
Then Lauren found it.
A legal folder on the vanity.
Inside: a guardianship petition—already signed by three Whitmore relatives.
