Nora stared at the financial record in disbelief.
The account carried her full name, Social Security number, and a Palm Beach address she had never used.
Ethan immediately accused her of stealing from the trust and manipulating Claire to hide the theft.
For one dangerous moment, the room leaned toward his story.
Nora did not come from money.
She worked as a public-school counselor and rented a small apartment.
The stolen millions placed beside her ordinary life made her look greedy to people already trained to associate poverty with motive.
Claire saw how quickly privilege redirected suspicion.

The bank records showed the account had been opened using a copy of Nora’s identification taken from the wedding-planning file.

The account was controlled by a private wealth manager employed by Victoria.
Nora had been chosen as the backup suspect.
If Claire challenged the pension transfers, Ethan could accuse her closest friend.
If Nora defended Claire, the account would make that loyalty look purchased.
Victoria called the strategy prudent risk management.
Nora stared at her.
“You built a crime around the fact that people would believe a counselor stole from billionaires.”
The employee trustees froze the account.
Most of the money remained untouched.
A smaller portion had been used to purchase a beachfront condominium.
The deed listed Nora as owner.
She had never seen it.
Then Elena recognized the address.
The condominium was where Ethan had been meeting another woman throughout the engagement.
Claire looked at him.

Nora opened the building’s security archive through the cooperative’s legal team.
The footage showed Ethan entering repeatedly with Victoria’s private secretary, Madeline Shaw.
Madeline stepped out from behind the guests.
