Chapter 3 - The Grandmother Who Bought a Lie

Evelyn arrived at the Harwood mansion and told reporters Claire had staged the emergency to seize Lily’s inheritance.
She described Claire as a struggling widow who had married above her station.
News outlets repeated the insult before reviewing the forged signature.

The humiliation spread faster than any correction.
Evelyn had already filed a guardianship petition supported by Marcus, the false doctor and two employees.
Rosa admitted Evelyn threatened to cancel her daughter’s college sponsorship if she refused to sign.
Claire asked why nobody warned her.
Rosa answered that rich families called silence loyalty and poverty ingratitude.
Then Lily remembered hiding her phone before Marcus entered.
