A forensic examiner confirmed David’s signature had been copied from a life-insurance form.
The notary insisted she had watched him sign.
Claire recognized her as Mrs. Dawson, Evelyn’s former housekeeper, who vanished after David’s death.
Police found her living under another name.
Mrs. Dawson admitted Evelyn forced her to notarize blank pages by threatening to stop paying for her husband’s medication.
Evelyn’s attorneys called her confused and unreliable, using age and poverty to erase testimony they had purchased.
Mrs. Dawson produced a key David hid inside her sewing box.
It opened a deposit box containing trust records and proof that Evelyn diverted employee pensions into Lily’s inheritance fund.
The fortune used to portray Claire as greedy had been built from housekeepers, drivers and kitchen workers.
The final recording contained David’s voice.
“If anything happens to me, my mother will blame Claire first.”
