Vivian screamed threats and promised lawsuits while the agents read her rights.

No one listened.

Maya remained beside the marble table with Jasper resting calmly in her arms. The red light on his collar faded, replaced by a steady blue glow.

Arthur approached her.

“Your father was a cautious and brilliant man. He knew Vivian would eventually try to take everything. The collar was designed to release the final truth only when your life was directly threatened.”

Maya touched the dark gem.

“What final truth? I thought the money and the estate were everything.”

The collar clicked.

A bright blue beam shot across the living room and struck the center of the massive stone fireplace.

A three-dimensional holographic blueprint expanded through the air. It mapped the living room, staircase, upper floors and servant quarters.

It also revealed a large hidden room behind the fireplace—one that appeared on no deed, architectural plan or tax record.

Vivian stopped fighting the agents.

Her eyes locked onto the glowing structure.

“Do not go in there!” she screamed. “Do not let her see it! Keep her away from that wall!”

The agents dragged her outside while her voice faded into the driveway.

Maya remained in the silent room, staring at the entrance to a secret world.
