When Claire threatened to contact regulators, Victoria arranged the crash.
It was not meant to kill her.
It was meant to leave her frightened, medicated, and easy to discredit.
Afterward, Marcus wrote that Claire suffered delusions caused by trauma.
The hospital staff accepted his report.
A wealthy doctor’s signature outweighed an injured woman’s memory.
Claire sent the video to a state investigator, but the message remained pending.
The hospital’s internal network had blocked outgoing files.
Marcus stepped closer to Lily.
“Your mother needs treatment. You can help her by cooperating.”
Lily looked at him through tears.
“You hurt her, then called her sick.”
Victoria’s expression hardened.
She ordered Marcus to prepare a sedative.
Under the bed, Claire noticed a second phone connected to the room’s emergency monitor.
It belonged to a nurse.
The screen was unlocked.
Then footsteps stopped outside.
A woman said, “Dr. Reed, open this door.”
