Maria read the notes.
They had been entered before Lily arrived at the hospital.
The diagnosis was not based on the child’s behavior.
It was written to support Victoria’s guardianship case.
Marcus insisted he followed hospital policy.
Claire asked how much Victoria paid him.
He said nothing.
Maria opened the financial section of the chart.
Hale Medical Group had billed Lily’s insurance for treatments she never received.
Counseling sessions, scans, and specialist consultations appeared under her name.
The hospital was not only preparing to take Lily.
It was already using her as a source of revenue.
Marcus claimed the money kept the hospital open for vulnerable patients.
Claire looked at the sealed custody files.
“You harmed vulnerable patients to protect the building.”
The emergency power returned.
Police voices echoed from the main hallway.
Marcus stepped backward and offered Claire a deal.
He would testify against Victoria if she destroyed the video of him damaging the car.
Lily looked at him.
“You want us to save you from what you did?”
Claire refused.
Marcus ran.
Before he reached the stairwell, Maria found another page inside Lily’s chart.
