Chapter 7 - THE MANAGER WHO SWITCHED THE EVIDENCE.

David admitted removing the authentic necklace after opening the case.

Eleanor had threatened to cancel medical coverage for retired apprentices if he refused.

“I thought preserving their care mattered more than one piece of evidence.”

Ruth’s voice sharpened.

“You protected our insurance by helping the people stealing our money.”

David returned the necklace from his office safe and surrendered his keys.

Maya did not offer easy forgiveness.

“A coerced choice still harms someone. Accountability must reach every level.”

The worker council removed David but allowed him to testify.

Forensics found a hidden microfilm chamber inside the necklace. Rafael built it to preserve supplier contracts, ownership records and proof Bellamy used prison labor to finish luxury pieces.

Eleanor called the allegation impossible.

Rafael answered, “Your family never saw the women. You saw invoices low enough to celebrate.”

The chamber was empty.

Claire insisted she had never opened it.

Then Maya’s backpack was searched with her consent.

Inside a stitched pocket, investigators found the missing microfilm.

Maya stared at Elena.

Her mother had repaired that backpack the night before.
