Sofia explained that she created the foundation to keep the breeding lines away from Harrison after Mateo vanished. She used Barrett money to move animals and protect workers, but also sold valuable bulls without consulting the employees who owned them. “I thought I was preserving what remained,” she said. Mateo answered, “You protected the program by becoming its private owner.” Elena refused to let either parent turn sacrifice into authority. Workers elected an independent board of trainers, ranch hands and veterinarians. Harrison watched from the private box as people he called disposable took control of the arena. Cole was arrested for wage fraud and evidence tampering after his fingerprints were found on the knife. Then the gate attendant confessed he had moved it after finding it near Elena’s boot. “I wanted Cole blamed,” he said. “But I did not make the cut.” Security footage showed Elena slicing her own boot.
