Chapter 5 - The Heir Stolen From the Nursery
Alexander confronted Margaret in the foyer where portraits had taught him he belonged to an unbroken bloodline.
“You stole me from a worker?”
Margaret remained cold.
“Teresa could barely afford food. We gave you education, influence and a future.”
Elena answered before he could.
“You took her child, then used the mansion you bought with stolen wages as proof she was unworthy.”
Rosa revealed that Teresa had organized employees after discovering the ownership agreement.
Margaret arranged an emergency guardianship, declared Teresa unstable and adopted Alexander through a sealed court.
Alexander’s entire identity had been built from the same system threatening Lily.
He removed the Blackwood signet ring.
“You did not rescue me. You converted me into a signature.”
Margaret slapped the ring from his hand.
“Without this family, you would have grown up behind a motel desk.”
Alexander’s voice turned merciless.
“I would rather inherit an honest struggle than your stolen throne.”
Federal authorities froze the family trust.
Workers gathered outside the gates, carrying old pay stubs and denied pension claims.
Margaret called them opportunists.
Rosa shouted back, “We are not stealing your estate. We are collecting the house our hunger paid for.”
Conrad agreed to cooperate, claiming Margaret controlled him through debt.
Elena refused to praise him.
“You found morality only after the gates closed behind you.”
Then Teresa Morales’s original custody file was unsealed.
It showed she had delivered twins.
Alexander had a biological sister.
Her name was Elena.
Alexander and Elena were not Blackwoods at all.
Margaret had stolen both children—but kept only Alexander in luxury.
