Margaret admitted taking both infants after Teresa challenged the estate.
The family kept Alexander because a male heir could absorb the worker claim without threatening patriarchal control.
Elena was placed with a mechanic’s family under the surname Hart.
Margaret later brought her into the château as a teenage maid, knowing she was Alexander’s twin but never telling either of them.
Elena faced her with shaking fury.
“You made me polish the staircase my mother’s money helped build while my brother walked down it as an heir.”
Margaret answered, “Alexander had the temperament for leadership.”
Lily stepped forward.
“You mean he was a boy wearing expensive clothes.”
The workers outside heard the exchange through Rosa’s livestream.
Their anger spread across the estate.
Former cooks described being denied medical care.
Drivers revealed retirement deductions that never reached their accounts.
Gardeners produced the original bankruptcy agreement.
A federal judge recognized the worker trust and placed Blackwood Holdings under temporary employee control.
Margaret watched housekeepers take seats in the boardroom.
“You will destroy everything.”
Rosa replied, “We built everything while you practiced signing your name.”
Alexander surrendered every inherited share and refused automatic leadership.
Elena did the same.
“The workers do not need another stolen child ruling them.”
For the first time, ownership moved toward the people who had actually labored for it.
Then Conrad delivered one final document.
Teresa Morales had not died in prison as the family claimed.
She had been released twenty years earlier after signing a settlement.
The payment was deposited into Elena’s account.
Alexander looked at his sister.
