Chapter 10 - THE MAN IN ETHAN’S FACE.

Forensic experts confirmed the photograph had not been altered. Security logs showed someone using Ethan’s biometric profile entered the mansion while he was in Boston.
Charles admitted the Mercer family had once funded identity-replacement experiments through a private medical contractor. Marcus was forced into the program after refusing to surrender the worker ledger.
Ethan rejected the idea that one final secret could excuse everything.
The court restored worker ownership, reopened pension and housing claims, and removed the Mercer family from automatic control. Eleanor, Charles and foundation executives faced prosecution. Anna and Ethan testified about their own concealment and signatures without demanding redemption.
Lily’s bear and the red heart were placed in the worker archive.
A plaque read:
“THEY CALLED THE CHILD A STRANGER BECAUSE HER EXISTENCE RETURNED THE HOUSE TO THE PEOPLE WHO PAID FOR IT.”
At the first public meeting, Lily drew another heart.
This one leaned to the right.
Anna stared at it.
“That is not my mark.”

Lily looked toward the doorway.
“The other Ethan taught me.”
