Chapter 3 - THE PHOTOGRAPH MEANT TO SILENCE HER.

Owen said Ella’s father had suffered a serious medical episode and was hiding it from investors.
If Ella canceled the acquisition, the Price family would release the photograph and claim Daniel Ward had concealed information affecting a public transaction.
The announcement could trigger investigations, lawsuits, and panic among thousands of Ward employees.
Vivian smiled with renewed confidence.
She had found the pressure point she believed every daughter shared.
“Your father built his empire on trust,” she said. “Sign the agreement, and his condition remains private.”
Ella stared at the photograph.
Daniel looked tired, but he was walking without assistance.
Owen stood beside him, holding a medical folder that did not belong in his hands.
Blair explained that the Prices had friends on the clinic’s executive board.
People at their level, she said, understood that information was a form of protection.
Ella heard the truth beneath the polished language.
They had obtained private records and intended to use them as leverage.
Still, the guests remained silent.
The poor were called criminals when they stole money.
The rich called it strategy when they stole privacy.
Ella asked Mr. Hale whether her father had known Owen was at the clinic.
“No, Miss Ward.”
Owen immediately accused the steward of lying.
Mr. Hale had served Ella’s grandfather before she was born.
He had opened doors for senators, billionaires, and ambassadors without ever forgetting which guests treated the staff as human beings.
He turned the photograph over.
A clinic access code was printed on the back.
“That code belongs to Mrs. Price’s charitable foundation.”
Vivian’s composure cracked.
Ella called the clinic on speakerphone and requested confirmation.
The administrator answered with unexpected news.
Daniel Ward had not been the patient.
May you like
Owen Price had.
And the reason for his visit could destroy the Price family’s entire acquisition plan.
