Nathan Price had been erased from the family story because he refused to protect Owen.
Five years earlier, he discovered that Owen was using employee pension funds to cover losses from failed luxury developments.
Nathan reported the transfers to their father.
Instead of investigating Owen, Vivian convinced the family that Nathan was jealous, unstable, and unfit for leadership.

His trust payments were frozen.

Nathan opened the banker’s box.
Inside were pension statements from hundreds of factory workers whose retirement accounts had been drained.
Owen said the funds had only been borrowed and would be restored after the acquisition.
Ella thought of the workers whose futures had been treated as temporary collateral while the Price family held engagement dinners beneath crystal chandeliers.
She told Nathan the Ward acquisition was canceled.
For the first time that evening, several guests applauded.
Ella silenced them with one look.

“There’s another reason they needed you to sign tonight.”
The envelope contained a copy of Ella’s prenuptial agreement.
A hidden amendment gave Owen access to the Ward family trust immediately after marriage.
