Ethan denied authorizing Maria’s confinement.
The clinic order carried his verified signature from the year he turned eighteen. He remembered signing foundation documents at his father’s request without reading them.
Leah’s eyes filled.
“A working teenager signs one bad form and carries debt for years. A wealthy heir signs away a woman’s freedom and calls himself young.”
Ethan did not ask for forgiveness.
“I will surrender every authority attached to my name.”
Maria explained that Victoria used the confinement order to seize worker records and remove Leah from the estate’s beneficiary list.
Mr. Whitmore had visited the clinic once but left without freeing her.
“I feared exposing the trust would destroy the company,” he said.
Maria answered, “You protected a company by making my daughter believe I was dead.”
Then the second camera revealed another visitor entering Maria’s room.
It was Rosa Grant.
Rosa carried the original worker ledger out under her coat.
