Chapter 6 - THE FATHER WHO DIAGNOSED HIS OWN DAUGHTER.

Daniel Bennett entered the hall surrounded by attorneys.
He claimed Leah had inherited Maria’s emotional instability and could not manage a national hotel company.
Leah stood in her service uniform while he wore a suit paid for by the Whitmore Foundation.
“You disappeared when Mom was confined,” she said. “Now you return when my name controls property.”
Daniel insisted he had protected Leah from scandal.
Maria answered, “You protected your medical license after signing false evaluations.”
Records showed Daniel had declared workers mentally unfit whenever they challenged missing wages. The clinic then transferred their shares to the family trust.
Ethan called federal agents into the room.
Daniel offered to expose Victoria in exchange for immunity.
The staff council refused.
“You may tell the truth,” Rosa said. “You may not buy innocence with names you helped erase.”
Then Maria revealed Daniel was not Leah’s biological father.
Her real father was a Whitmore maintenance engineer who died during a hotel fire.
