Chapter 6 - The Baby They Designed to Own

The agreement showed that the Harrington clinic used Sarah’s genetic material during what she believed was routine fertility treatment.

Daniel’s sample was included, but Harrison controlled every legal document surrounding Lily’s birth.

The purpose was clear: create a child connected to both the Harrington fortune and Maria’s restitution claim.

Victoria called Lily the perfect legal bridge between two trusts.

Sarah’s fury shook the room.

“You are discussing my daughter like a merger.”

Harrison replied, “Families preserve assets. Sentiment does not change economic reality.”

Maria stepped between him and Lily.

“She is not an asset. She is a child your family frightened because control mattered more than her sleep.”

Daniel admitted signing clinic forms without reading the private annex.

Harrison had told him the paperwork protected the family from future custody disputes.

Sarah turned toward him.

“Poor fathers are told ignorance is no excuse when they sign a lease. You had lawyers and still chose obedience.”

Daniel accepted the accusation.

He surrendered every Harrington share and requested independent review of his custody rights.

Victoria accused him of betraying his own class.

“You are giving a dynasty to maids, caseworkers and women who cannot manage their own rent.”

Daniel answered, “They managed our homes, raised our children and funded our foundation. We were the dependents.”

Federal agents arrested Victoria, Pierce and Harrison for conspiracy, fraud and witness intimidation.

The reversal drew silence from relatives who once treated their authority as permanent.

Then the fertility clinic called.

Lily had not been the only child created under Sarah’s name.

A second embryo had been transferred four years earlier.

The legal mother was Victoria.

And that child was living somewhere inside the mansion.
