Chapter 1 - THE CLAUSE HE FORGOT.

Daniel recoiled from the five bassinets.
“Those children are not mine!”
Amara held one swaddled newborn against her chest while four slept safely nearby.
“Then request DNA tests. But read page twelve of our prenup before you abandon them.”
Evelyn Pierce stepped beside her son.
“Sign the divorce papers. We will tell everyone childbirth made you unstable.”
Amara looked toward the two nurses.
“Thank you for saying that in front of witnesses.”
Daniel threw away his visitor bracelet and left with Evelyn.
When the door closed, Amara ordered the hallway recording preserved.
A nurse opened the sealed prenatal results.
“Daniel is the father of all five.”
Then she studied the ancestry report.
“Ms. Pierce, his mother already knew.”
In the hallway, Evelyn whispered into her phone, “He abandoned every heir. Activate the trust before he learns who his grandmother was.”
