Margaret entered the kitchen without apology.
She admitted Elena had been alive in private care for years.
“She became obsessed with ownership and began poisoning Maya against this family.”
Maya’s voice shook with rage.
“My mother remembered what you stole.”
Margaret replied, “She was a domestic employee who confused sacrifice with entitlement.”
Adrian stared at his mother.
“Elena raised me.”
“She was paid.”
“No,” Rosa said. “She was underpaid, erased, and threatened.”
Margaret had approved the false guardianship files, intercepted Elena’s letters, and allowed Maya to believe her mother abandoned her.
Victoria’s engagement to Adrian was part of a succession plan. Once married, she would control the company while Margaret protected the family name.
Maya placed the employee trust on the counter.
“You called my mother unstable because admitting she owned part of this house would force you to share power.”
Police were already searching the clinic.
Then an officer called Adrian.
Elena’s room was empty.
A staff member had moved her that afternoon using a Whitmore vehicle.
