Chapter 8 - THE SIGNATURE ADRIAN COULD NOT ESCAPE.

Adrian remembered signing a transportation order that morning.

Margaret described it as a routine transfer for an elderly foundation resident.

He never asked for the woman’s name.

Maya looked at him with exhausted disappointment.

“You did not know because your life was designed so ignorance never punished you.”

Adrian lowered his head.

“You’re right.”

Margaret tried to defend him.

“He trusted his mother.”

Rosa answered, “Poor workers trust paperwork too. The difference is one mistake costs us housing.”

The vehicle tracker led police to an abandoned Whitmore guesthouse outside Philadelphia.

Elena was found alive, weak but mentally clear.

She carried a final ledger sewn into her coat.

It proved Margaret and Victoria had diverted pensions, forged medical orders, and forced longtime employees from housing after they questioned ownership.

Elena also revealed Charles had planned to acknowledge Maya publicly.

He died before the announcement.

Then she looked at Adrian through the video call.

“Your father did not die naturally.”

Margaret’s composure broke.

Elena opened the final page.

The person who approved Charles’s last medication change was Victoria.

But the request had come from Adrian’s account.
