Chapter 9 - THE SILENCE EVELYN COULD NOT DEFEND.

Evelyn admitted meeting Denise secretly.
Denise wanted to remove Naomi from the facility immediately. Evelyn feared the family would move her again and persuaded Denise to wait until the evidence was complete.
“I thought a stronger case would save everyone,” Evelyn said. “My granddaughter died while I was still collecting proof.”
Caleb pulled his hand away, remaining safely beside his court-appointed advocate.
“You tell me brave means speaking. Why didn’t you?”
Evelyn accepted the judgment.
“Because fear can live inside good intentions.”
The board refused to make Evelyn a flawless hero. Her voting authority was placed under review beside Jonathan’s.
Victoria, Marcus and participating physicians were charged with fraud, unlawful confinement and guardianship abuse. Jonathan faced investigation for destruction orders and ignoring Denise’s warning.
Naomi’s legal capacity was restored. She joined an elected council of patients, workers and separated families.
Then the founder’s letter was opened.
It did not grant authority to the person who saved Jonathan.
