Chapter 1 - THE MASTER KEYS IN HIS VEST.

Noah set his motorcycle helmet beside the delivery bags while Blake Mercer pointed toward the front doors.

“A delivery man has no right to stand in my house.”

Noah removed a ring of keys from his reflective vest. The silver tag carried the same crest carved above the fireplace.

“These are the master keys. This mansion belongs to me.”

Emily’s smile vanished. Guests lowered their champagne glasses as Blake’s face turned pale.

Noah explained that he had allowed the Mercer Foundation to use the house for one charity dinner. Blake had converted that permission into an engagement party and presented himself as the owner.

Blake called the mistake harmless.

Noah looked at the stained vest Blake had mocked.

“You did not make a mistake. You tested how cruel you could be while believing the person had no power.”

Then the house steward opened the event contract.

The signature authorizing Blake’s party was not Noah’s.

It belonged to Emily.

She stared at the page and whispered, “I never signed that.”
