Chapter 7 - THE PROFITS NOAH NEVER QUESTIONED.

The metal case was found beneath the wine cellar stairs.
Blake said it contained confidential company equipment. Federal counsel opened it under witness supervision.
Inside were driver contracts, copied identification cards and prepaid debit accounts registered in workers’ names. Blake’s company had used those accounts to receive customer tips before deducting invented fees.
One account belonged to Noah.
Blake smiled. “So the owner of the mansion profited too.”
Noah admitted he had invested in the platform three years earlier through a retirement fund. He had received dividends without examining the labor model closely enough.
“I benefited from numbers I did not question,” he said. “Place my earnings under restitution review.”
Luis looked at him. “Owning the keys does not make you innocent.”
“No,” Noah replied. “It makes me responsible for opening the right doors.”
The worker council suspended Blake and appointed independent management.
Then auditors found Emily’s signature on the debit-account program.
