Emily examined the authorization while Blake insisted she had approved hundreds of wedding documents without remembering each one.
Noah asked the steward to display the access record. The contract had been uploaded from Blake’s corporate office three weeks before he proposed.
“You planned the party before she agreed to marry you,” Noah said.
Blake replied that wealthy families scheduled important events early.
Emily faced him. “You scheduled my answer too?”
The forged contract listed the mansion as Mercer family property and valued it at twelve million dollars. Blake had used that false ownership claim to secure a business loan.
The lender was waiting for the engagement announcement before releasing the funds.
Noah revealed why he had arrived wearing a delivery vest. Blake’s company operated a premium food-delivery platform accused of withholding tips and classifying full-time drivers as independent contractors.
The engagement dinner had been charged to an employee appreciation account.
Every delivery worker had helped pay for the party where Blake insulted one of them.
