Chapter 10 - The Dynasty That Chose Her Husband

The secret marriage proved Elena had been Arthur’s lawful wife before he publicly married Vincent’s mother.
Laura was therefore Arthur’s legitimate heir, but she refused the estate.
“The workers owned this company before Arthur owned my mother’s silence.”
A federal court recognized the employee charter, restored pensions and transferred permanent control to the worker council.
Helena, Derek and the corrupt clinic officials received federal sentences.
Mason accepted probation and survivor oversight after cooperating.
Samuel surrendered hidden assets.
Elena regained her freedom and began rebuilding a relationship with both daughters without demanding immediate forgiveness.
Vincent lost his inherited authority and worked under the elected board during the investigation.
Laura annulled the marriage but did not pretend affection could vanish through a legal filing.
“You protected me when you entered the foyer,” she told Vincent.
“But protection arrived years after your silence helped build the danger.”
He accepted the judgment.
The Aspen mansion became a legal and medical center for workers harmed by coerced guardianships and arranged corporate marriages.
The spilled wine stain remained beneath glass beside the recovered camera drive.
A plaque read:
THEY LOCKED THE DOORS BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT MONEY OWNED THE TRUTH.
At the opening ceremony, a security radio suddenly beeped.
A convoy officer reported, “We recovered the original footage from Arthur’s bunker.”
The ballroom screen activated.
It showed Laura as a child standing beside a young Vincent while Arthur spoke to both families.
“Raise them apart,” he ordered.
“When the workers’ claim matures, they will marry and return everything to us.”
Then another man stepped into frame.
It was Michael Bennett, alive after the ski-lift accident.
He looked directly at the hidden camera.
“No,” he said.
“I will let the marriage happen—because Laura is the one I trained to destroy the Ashcrofts from inside.”
Laura stared at Elena.
Vincent whispered, “Your father planned our entire life.”
Elena answered, “Not your entire life.”
She pointed toward the final seconds of the footage.
