Chapter 10 - THE CHILD IN VIVIAN’S SECRET PHOTOGRAPH.
Charles admitted placing the key where Nora would find it and guiding her to the records room without revealing himself on the main cameras.
He wanted Vivian exposed but feared losing the company if he acted openly.
Nora’s voice was cold.
“You used my class, my uniform and my mother’s pain because you thought no one would believe I could be part of a plan.”
Charles accepted removal from the board and criminal review for concealment, forged deeds and trust transfers. Vivian, Samuel and Judge Grant faced separate charges. Elaine’s guardianship was voided after an independent hearing.
The workers recovered the mansion, housing and hospital land. Pensions were restored, medical debts canceled and employee names placed on every property they financed.
The silver key remained on the dining table beneath glass.
A plaque read:
“SHE WAS ORDERED TO PUT DOWN THE CUP IN A HOUSE HER MOTHER’S WAGES HAD BOUGHT.”
At the public opening, the key began to vibrate against the saucer.
A hidden transmitter inside it activated a wall panel no one knew existed.
Behind the panel was a second dining room photograph.
