Chapter 6 - THE FATHER WHO SAVED HIS LICENSE.

Samuel Hale descended the curved staircase wearing an expensive suit and carrying the guardianship file he had signed against Elaine.
He said Vivian threatened to expose his fraudulent medical billing unless he declared his wife unstable.
Nora stared at him.
“You saved your license by taking away her legal voice.”
Samuel replied that he stayed inside the mansion to gather evidence.
Mrs. Doyle did not soften.
“You slept beneath our roof, ate food we cooked and waited for courage while Elaine lost her freedom.”
Samuel surrendered recordings linking Vivian, Judge Grant and bank officers to the guardianship scheme. He accepted investigation without asking Nora to defend him.
One recording revealed Charles had offered Elaine a private settlement after discovering the fraud. She refused because it restored only her family’s share, not the workers’ shares.
Nora looked at Charles.
“You tried to purchase one woman’s silence and call it justice.”
Then Elaine joined by video and revealed the key also opened a safe-deposit box at First Ashford Bank.
