Chapter 5 - THE CLINIC THAT KEPT HIM QUIET.

The clinic records showed Daniel arrived conscious with minor injuries after a traffic collision.

Diane’s brother sedated him, restricted visitors and delayed transfer to a public hospital.

Ryan said he knew nothing.

Claire played one of the phone videos. His voice could be heard telling Diane, “Keep Daniel quiet until the trust deadline passes.”

Ryan stared at the floor.

“I meant legally quiet.”

Claire answered, “You always hide cruelty behind a word that sounds expensive.”

Mrs. Whitmore refused to protect him.

Federal investigators sealed the clinic and reopened Daniel’s death.

Diane called Claire ungrateful.

“We gave you a mansion after your father left you nothing.”

Claire looked around the gold furniture.

“My father left truth. You surrounded it with marble and called that generosity.”

The staff council voted to preserve every video and payroll record.

Then Rosa revealed Daniel had survived long enough to send one final email.
