Chapter 9 - THE MINUTES ROSA STOLE FROM A DYING MAN.
Mrs. Whitmore admitted giving Rebecca the code so she could remove Daniel from the clinic.
But Rebecca arrived too late.
Security footage showed someone else entering first using the same code.
That person was Rosa.
The room went silent.
Rosa explained Daniel had asked her to retrieve his patent files before Diane’s attorneys destroyed them.
She found him conscious and demanding help, but she took the documents before calling emergency services.
“I believed the papers could protect hundreds of workers,” she said.
Claire’s eyes filled.
“My father needed protection too.”
Rosa did not hide behind the cause.
“I made a choice. Fear explains it. It does not erase the minutes he lost.”
The worker council suspended her from leadership while preserving her right to testify.
Mrs. Whitmore praised the decision.
Rosa answered, “Do not praise consequences you never faced when your family controlled the clock.”
The recovered documents proved Daniel’s ownership claim.
They also contained a signed confession from Ryan.
