Chapter 8 - THE LETTERS DIANE NEVER DELIVERED.

Rebecca entered the mansion under federal protection, older and exhausted but fully alert.
Claire did not run to her.
“You watched me marry the family that destroyed us.”
Rebecca answered, “I tried to warn you. Every letter was returned by Diane’s office.”
Diane denied it until a staff assistant produced a drawer filled with unopened envelopes.
Rebecca had withdrawn five million dollars to pay workers facing eviction and medical debt.
Rosa confronted her.
“You chose who deserved help without asking us.”
Rebecca accepted the criticism.
“I thought urgency excused secrecy. It did not.”
The worker council demanded a full accounting and removed her authority over the trust.
Ryan tried to blame his mother for everything.
Claire stopped him.
“She designed the trap. You enjoyed it, filmed it and called it marriage.”
Federal agents arrested Diane and Judge Price for fraud, coercion and obstruction.
Ryan was charged with conspiracy and unlawful surveillance.
Then one video remained unopened.
