Chapter 6 - THE FATHER INSIDE THE EMPTY COFFIN.

Samuel Hart entered the mansion under federal protection.
Lila froze.
“You let me bury an empty coffin.”
Samuel said Vincent had arranged a fatal construction accident after Samuel discovered the worker deed. Eleanor helped him escape but demanded permanent silence.
“I thought disappearing would protect you.”
Lila’s voice broke.
“You protected my life by destroying every year inside it.”
Samuel did not ask forgiveness.
He revealed that Whitmore contractors had used undocumented labor, withheld wages and placed ownership shares inside shell companies. The mansion was only the beginning.
Vincent dismissed the workers as people who should be grateful for employment.
Samuel answered, “Gratitude is not ownership, and poverty is not consent.”
Federal agents froze the foundation and reopened twelve suspicious clinic deaths.
Then Samuel confessed that he had not returned only for Lila.
He possessed a second deed transferring the entire Whitmore hotel chain to employees if Eleanor’s original testimony became public.
Eleanor looked at him.
“That deed was destroyed.”

Samuel placed a burned envelope on the table.
“Only the copy you were meant to find.”
