Noah discovered his signature had authorized payments from Elizabeth’s trust since he turned eighteen.
Vincent had told him they funded cancer research.
Instead, the money paid clinics to declare workers incompetent, isolate witnesses and accelerate property transfers.
Noah faced the staff.
“My ignorance does not return what my name helped take.”
Vincent tried to defend him.
“He was a child raised to obey.”
Ruth answered, “Working children become adults at sixteen because rent is due. Wealthy sons remain children until accountability arrives.”
Noah surrendered the trust and requested criminal review of his own approvals.
Lila stood beside him but did not offer easy forgiveness.
“Doing the right thing after learning the truth does not erase the years before it.”
Investigators found Elizabeth’s private journal. She had discovered the scheme and planned to expose Vincent.
Her final entry said Eleanor promised to help her escape.
Eleanor began crying.
“I reached the clinic too late.”
