Caroline returned by video and admitted accepting money after Vincent threatened to place Lila in state custody.
“I chose the lie that kept my daughter beside me.”
Lila answered, “You kept my body near you and let me grow up believing Dad abandoned us.”
Caroline surrendered the money and every legal claim attached to it.
The worker council refused to excuse her, but it also refused Vincent’s attempt to blame a frightened mother for a system he created.
Ruth said, “Power manufactures desperation, then presents the desperate person as the criminal.”
Judge Reeves, Vincent and two clinic executives were arrested. Eleanor agreed to testify without immunity.
Noah publicly ended his claim to the mansion and hotel chain.
Then the federal auditor uncovered one final trust.
It belonged to Noah’s late mother, Elizabeth, whose death had been described as cancer.
The trust paid every clinic involved in the worker deaths.
Noah turned toward Eleanor.
“You said my mother hated this family’s cruelty.”
