Victoria denied it until the photo was enlarged.
The resemblance was undeniable.
Emily’s eyes. Ethan’s expression. A birthmark recorded in medical files.
Victoria collapsed into a chair.
“She was adopted… we didn’t know…”
But the records showed otherwise.
Sophie had been placed deliberately. Raised as a Whitmore. Taught gratitude instead of truth.
Emily’s voice broke with rage.
“You raised my daughter like she was lucky to be stolen.”
A second recording played. Victoria’s voice:
“If she finds out, the child goes overseas.”
