Chapter 5 - THE SIGNATURE STOLEN FROM THE BRIDAL CONTRACT.
The forged easement used Isabella’s signature from the wedding vendor agreement.
Julian’s office had copied it from a document authorizing floral deliveries.
The transfer gave Whitmore Estates permanent access across her father’s vineyard while paying less than one percent of the land’s value.
Diane called it a reasonable family arrangement.
“Your father owns dirt. We are bringing development, jobs, and prestige.”
Isabella’s voice turned cold.
“My father owns the road you need. That is why you invited him through the service entrance.”
Robert looked toward Diane.
“You told me her family preferred privacy.”
“They did not belong in the main arrival photographs,” Diane replied. “The donors would have asked questions.”
Sofia shook her head.
“You mean they would have seen who actually owned the land under your resort.”
Cameron admitted he had approved preliminary plans without reading the access agreement.
Isabella looked at him with fresh disappointment.
“You had attorneys, assistants, and every advantage. My father had one bilingual contract he trusted you to explain.”
Cameron did not defend himself.
“I failed him.”
“No,” Isabella answered. “You benefited from not asking.”
Robert ordered the county filing challenged.
Diane laughed.
“It is already notarized.”
The listed notary was Sofia Reyes.
She stared at the page.
“I never signed this.”
Then security footage appeared from the estate office.
A woman wearing Sofia’s uniform had notarized the transfer.
