Chapter 4 - THE PAGE INSIDE BROOKE’S FILE.

The missing page was found inside Brooke’s personnel file.

It granted custodians, cooks, bell staff and laundry workers a permanent vote whenever employee benefit money was used for expansion. The clause had activated when the hotel opened its second tower.

Brooke claimed she had never seen it.

Daniel showed her fingerprint on the archive seal.

Elena turned toward Rose.

“Why did you go undercover instead of telling me this existed?”

Rose did not seek sympathy.

“Because complaints reached your office and returned downstairs marked resolved. I needed to know whether my daughter led a company or only inherited a title.”

Elena absorbed the rebuke.

The worker council suspended both Brooke and Elena from operational authority until an independent election.

Then Marcus revealed that one complaint had never been closed.

A night porter named Jamal Reed had accused Brooke of charging immigrant workers for fake legal assistance, then threatening to report them when they resisted.

Jamal had disappeared after his final shift.

The last elevator record showed him entering Brooke’s private penthouse office.
