Ryan’s petition requested control of Kelsey’s military pension, their Maryland home and Nancy’s legal affairs.
The psychologist supporting it had never examined either woman.
“He wrote the diagnosis before the interview,” Kelsey said.
Christopher answered, “That is how expensive lies become official.”
At the courthouse, Ryan arrived beside his parents, Charles and Evelyn Morgan, donors whose name covered a hospital wing and police scholarship fund.
Evelyn looked at Nancy’s broken glasses.
“Families like ours resolve embarrassment privately.”
Nancy straightened.
“Families like yours call silence dignity because workers cannot afford your lawyers.”
Ryan repeated that Nancy attacked him. Kelsey produced the false fireplace statement and the glass from his boot.
The judge hesitated because Charles had financed his campaign.
Then an Army investigator entered with James Morgan’s recovered witness file.
One page showed Ryan had signed for the document case six years earlier.
