Chapter 9 - THE MONEY FRANK TOOK FOR HIS SON.

Frank admitted accepting the money when David needed childhood surgery and insurance denied coverage.
“I told myself I was borrowing against my own share.”
Margaret’s voice shook.
“You borrowed from every worker in that trust.”
Frank did not hide behind fatherhood.
“I chose my child over people who trusted me. Investigate it.”
The board placed his voting rights under review and ordered repayment before any inheritance.
Ethan stood beside him but did not defend the secret.
“You taught me honesty matters most when it costs something.”
David seized on the admission.
“He started the corruption.”
Rebecca replied, “His wrongdoing does not erase yours.”
Former residents returned with evidence of forced signatures and fabricated diagnoses. Contracts were suspended, families regained access and every medication order was reviewed.
Then Margaret examined Frank’s old settlement check.
The endorsement was not his handwriting.
Frank accepted the offer, but the money entered Thomas Hale’s account.
Thomas whispered, “I used it for David’s surgery.”
David stared at him.

“My father did not pay for me?”
Thomas answered, “Frank is not your biological father.”
