Chapter 5 - THE VISIT DANIEL KEPT SECRET.
Daniel admitted visiting a private medical residence outside Miami.
Eleanor told him an unstable former employee was demanding ownership of the mansion.
He met Teresa under a false name and watched her struggle to speak through heavy medication.
She tried to give him a sealed envelope.
Eleanor took it before he opened it.
Claire’s voice was quieter than anger.
“You stood beside my mother and never asked why she knew your childhood nickname.”
Daniel lowered his head.
“I believed she was confused.”
“You believed her because she wore a patient gown instead of pearls.”
Eleanor called the visit irrelevant.
“Teresa became fixated on property she could never manage.”
Claire turned toward her.
“You drugged a trustee, erased her name, and called the truth a symptom.”
The deputies searched Eleanor’s remote and found access codes for the medical residence, estate cameras, and pool controls.
Daniel ordered Teresa released to independent care.
Then Rosa recovered the envelope Eleanor had hidden inside the pool-control pedestal.
It contained Teresa’s statement and a photograph of Daniel signing the cooperative’s dissolution papers.
