THE RING SHE WAS SLAPPED FOR / Chapter 9 / 10

Chapter 9 - THE SIGNATURE HER FATHER STOLE.

The photograph came from a workers’ trust ceremony held after Evelyn’s twenty-first birthday.

Samuel admitted he had briefly appointed her successor trustee without explaining the legal power involved.

Evelyn remembered signing what he called a scholarship acknowledgment.

Her signature had authorized a temporary transfer that Andrew later extended for years.

“You used my trust in you as a legal shortcut,” she told her father.

Samuel lowered his head.

“I believed you were too young to carry the danger.”

“You still made me carry the consequence.”

The worker council placed Evelyn’s own role under review and appointed outside counsel. She accepted the decision.

Andrew tried to use the revelation to invalidate the audit.

Rosa answered, “Her signature may create responsibility. It does not make your theft legitimate.”

Federal agents detained Andrew for fraud, coercion and evidence tampering. Victoria testified about the galas and documents she signed without demanding immunity.

Then the authentic trust ledger was found inside the ballroom piano.
