Charles Carrington admitted that he had paid hospital employees, redirected Caroline’s mail, and arranged the false report claiming her baby had died.
He said Vivian promised it was necessary to protect the Ashford name from scandal.
Grant stared at the guests.
Many of them had attended Caroline’s memorial service.
Some had known the truth.
A former judge confessed that Charles had asked him to discourage Caroline from challenging the trust.
A banker admitted that unusual withdrawals had been ignored because Vivian brought powerful clients.
Ruby listened as wealthy adults described her childhood as an accounting problem.
Elena held her tighter.
Grant removed Vivian’s name from the foundation stage banner and dropped it at her feet.
“You called this child a thief,” he said.
“You stole her family, her inheritance, and sixteen years of her life.”
Police entered through the ballroom doors.
Vivian remained strangely calm.
