Chapter 2 - THE GIRL THEY ORDERED OUT.

Grant accused Lily of staging the moment to manipulate a grieving old woman.
His daughter Madison laughed and said girls like Lily were always searching for a wealthy family to claim.
The ballroom manager immediately sided with the Ashfords.
Lily was ordered to remove her apron, surrender her employee badge, and leave through the service entrance so the guests would not see her.
Evelyn demanded that Lily stay, but Grant reminded his mother that he controlled the foundation, the hotel contract, and the family’s public image.
Humiliated, Lily placed her badge on the table.
Then Evelyn asked one question.
“What was your mother’s name?”

Lily answered, “Eleanor Hart.”
Every smile at the Ashford table disappeared.
