Chapter 7 - THE WOMAN WHO STAYED SILENT.

The nurse was now the wife of one of Grant’s closest business partners.
She had spent years attending Ashford galas, accepting donations, and smiling beside Evelyn while knowing the truth.
At first, she denied everything.
Then Lily placed the photograph, the pendant, and the letter in front of her.
The nurse’s hands began to tremble.
She admitted that Eleanor had delivered a healthy baby girl.
Grant had arrived with legal documents and claimed the child needed temporary protection from scandal.
The nurse had been paid to record the infant as deceased and transfer her to a private adoption contact.
Grant insisted he had only protected the family from Eleanor’s instability.
Evelyn asked where her daughter had gone after losing the baby.
The nurse lowered her eyes.

“She came back for Lily.”
But someone made certain she never reached the house.
