Chapter 3 - THE SIGNATURE ADAM COULD NOT EXPLAIN.

Adam recognized his electronic approval code.
He had authorized emergency access to Maya’s office three weeks earlier after Evelyn told him a water leak threatened the family archives.

Evelyn had used his approval to enter the office, copy Maya’s digital signature, and route the stolen trust money through accounts carrying her father’s name.
Maya looked at Adam with quiet devastation.

Nora spoke from the staircase.
“My husband died waiting for the medical coverage you called temporary.”
Evelyn’s expression did not change.
“He was an employee, not a shareholder.”
Adam looked at her.
“That sentence is why Maya sent the files.”
Then the second witness, Elise, removed a sealed envelope from inside her uniform.
It contained the original trust deed.
