Chapter 7 - THE MEN LEFT BEHIND THE STORM LINE.

Police located the coastal property before the weather worsened.

Rafael and Samuel were found alive inside a locked caretaker’s cottage. They were weak but conscious, with no serious injuries.

Charles had abandoned them there after learning Maya sent the evidence.

When officers arrested him, he claimed Evelyn ordered the transfer to protect two confused patients from media attention.

Rafael laughed when he heard the explanation.

“They always call the cage protection.”

Maya met her father at the hospital.

He looked at her for a long time before saying:

“You grew into your mother’s courage.”

She held his hand but did not pretend the reunion repaired what had been stolen.

Rafael confirmed that Arthur survived the fall long enough to sign a revised trust amendment.

That amendment transferred control of the mansion to the employee cooperative if any Vale officer retaliated against a trustee or witness.

By pushing Maya, Evelyn had activated it.

Adam looked toward his mother.

“You lost the house the moment you touched her.”

Evelyn’s face twisted with fury.

“This mansion belongs to the Vale name.”

Rafael answered from the hospital screen.

“The Vale name borrowed it from workers and never returned the key.”

The police froze the estate.

Employee representatives took temporary control.

Then the revised amendment was examined.

Arthur’s signature was genuine.

But another signature appeared beneath it.

Maya’s mother, Lucia Reyes, had signed as co-owner.

Maya had been told Lucia died before Rafael disappeared.

Rafael whispered:

“She did not die.”

Then he looked at Adam.

“Your mother knows where she is.”
