Chapter 2 - THE BRIDE WHO SIGNED AWAY ANOTHER WOMAN’S CHILD.

Airport security approached Maya, but Claire stepped between them.
“No one removes her until I know why my father signed this.”
Ethan called the order temporary protection. He claimed Maya had threatened to expose private company records and disappear with Lucas.
Maya opened her crossbody bag and produced months of messages.
“He begged me to keep the pregnancy secret because a child with a ground-operations employee would damage his engagement negotiations.”
Travelers slowed to watch. Ethan lowered his voice and accused Maya of creating a spectacle.
“You created the humiliation,” she answered. “I brought it to the gate where you planned to leave.”
Claire called her father. He said the document was routine and warned her not to jeopardize the Whitmore-Lawson merger over “a former baggage clerk.”
Maya had been a union contract analyst, not a clerk.
Then Claire saw a second signature beneath the custody affidavit.
