Adrian admitted visiting Maria.
He said he believed marrying Claire would stop Eleanor from transferring the worker shares to an outside investor.
“You could have told me,” Claire said.
“If I told you, Mother would have moved Maria.”
“So you chose my consent as the price of your plan.”
Adrian had intended to reverse the transfer after the wedding. But emails showed he also negotiated a ten-percent personal fee if the shares entered his control.
He claimed the fee would fund worker restitution.
Rosa answered, “Rich men always become trustees of money they first helped steal.”
The workers formed an independent council and removed every Vale and Santos from automatic authority.
Claire refused to take Maria’s seat.
“My mother’s suffering does not make me owner of everyone else’s labor.”
Then auditors found the black spray had been used before.
