Chapter 8 - THE MARRIAGES MADE FROM STOLEN NAMES.

The certificate used Elena’s stolen identity to create a shell marriage that transferred her employment settlement into an Adrian-controlled trust.

Adrian denied authorizing it.

The notary was Judge Malcolm Voss, a Vale family friend who had dismissed every worker appeal.

Elena faced him at the emergency hearing.

“You turned my name into a signature because you thought a housekeeper’s daughter would never reach your courtroom.”

Voss claimed administrative error.

Federal records showed twenty-three similar marriages involving low-wage women and wealthy trustees.

The marriages allowed donor families to absorb housing, injury and inheritance settlements without public probate.

Eleanor called the system estate planning.

Maria answered, “You made women legally belong to men they had never met.”

Voss, Eleanor and Thomas were arrested for fraud, coercion and unlawful confinement.

Then investigators found Claire’s name on another certificate.

Her legal spouse was not Adrian.
