Daniel remembered authorizing budget controls during a company cash crisis. He never saw Maria’s name.

Victoria’s anger finally broke through her restraint.

“My mother died knowing the man I trusted had signed the page that priced her life below a ballroom renovation.”

Daniel did not ask forgiveness.

“I will submit every approval for review and accept whatever responsibility belongs to me.”

The council discovered the charity fund had denied care to staff while paying private specialists for Ashford relatives. Eleanor called it preservation of limited resources.

Gloria answered, “Resources become limited only when they reach the people who earned them.”

Charles Hale offered records against Eleanor in exchange for protecting Madison from prosecution.

Madison refused his bargain.

“I signed the complaint. I approved the fund. Do not purchase innocence for me.”

Fletcher separated the cases: fraud, trust theft, discrimination and evidence tampering would be investigated independently.
