When she discovered children were being taken through fraudulent agreements, the Vales threatened her sister’s custody case and purchased her silence.
Miguel’s voice cracked.
“You judged Collins and Celeste while hiding that your own hands built the files.”
“I told myself I was protecting women from something worse.”
Lupita cut her off.
“You called cages protection because you were not locked inside them.”
Hannah later used animal microchips to track mothers and babies moved through Vale properties. She helped Lupita escape and board the freight train with the red ledger.
The list showed federal contractors using poor women’s children to create heirs for corporations facing inheritance disputes.
At the Chicago rail yard, tactical officers surrounded the train and demanded the ledger.
Their commander appeared among the listed adoptive fathers.
